Membership Terms & Conditions

Our Membership Terms & Conditions explain the relationship between Talented Tenth Advisory (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and individuals who purchase or access a membership (“members” or “you”).

By purchasing a membership, creating a member account, or accessing materials, you agree to these Terms, subject to applicable law.

1. Membership Overview

Membership grants access to educational content, professional development resources, and other membership experiences made available through Talented Tenth Advisory.

Our purpose is to encourage thoughtful examination of organizational performance, sustainability, leadership, and the conditions that influence long-term organizational effectiveness.

Membership benefits depend on the membership plan purchased and are described on the applicable membership or checkout page.

Membership does not automatically include individualized organizational assessments, private advisory engagements, or services that have not been expressly included in the purchased plan.

2. Membership Access

Membership access is intended for the registered member and is subject to the terms of the membership plan purchased.

Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for activity occurring through their accounts.

Membership credentials may not be shared with others unless expressly authorized in writing by Talented Tenth Advisory.

If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, please notify us at support@talentedtenthadvisory.com.

3. Membership Fees and Billing

The membership price, billing frequency, and included benefits are displayed before purchase.

Membership price: $495.00

Billing frequency: ANNUALLY

Renewal terms: Your membership automatically renews, and you authorize recurring charges according to the billing terms disclosed and accepted at checkout until you cancel.

Applicable taxes and fees, if any, will be disclosed during checkout.

Any changes to membership pricing will be communicated as required by applicable law.

4. Cancellation and Membership Access

Your membership is annual and automatically renews unless canceled before the next scheduled billing date.

Members may cancel automatic renewal at any time through their Squarespace customer account by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your customer account.

  2. Select Account, then Digital Products or Subscriptions.

  3. Select membership.

  4. Select Manage Subscription, when prompted.

  5. Select Cancel Subscription and confirm your cancellation.

Canceling automatic renewal prevents future recurring membership charges. It does not automatically entitle the member to a refund of the current membership fee.

Members who cancel automatic renewal will lose membership access immediately. Cancellation of automatic renewal does not automatically entitle the member to a refund. Refund eligibility is governed by Section 5.

Members who wish to terminate their membership early and request a refund must contact support@talentedtenthadvisory.com.

When an early termination refund request is received, membership access will end immediately. Refund eligibility is governed by Section 5.

5. Refund Policy

Talented Tenth Advisory offers the following refund policy for the $495 annual membership.

Full Refund: First 30 Days

Members who request a refund within the first 30 calendar days of their initial membership purchase are eligible for a full refund of the membership fee.

Partial Refund: Days 31–180

Members who request early membership termination after the initial 30-day period, but within 180 calendar days of their initial purchase, are eligible for a partial refund equal to one-third of the annual membership fee.

For a $495 annual membership, this refund is $165.

This is a fixed partial refund, not a monthly or daily prorated refund.

Members who receive a full or partial refund agree to early termination of their membership. Access will end when Talented Tenth Advisory processes the termination.

After 180 Days

Membership fees are nonrefundable after the first 180 calendar days of the annual membership term, except where required by applicable law.

Members may cancel automatic renewal at any time, and membership privileges end immediately.

Annual Renewals

The full-refund and partial-refund windows described above apply to the initial membership purchase only.

Annual renewal payments are nonrefundable once processed, except where required by applicable law.

Members are responsible for canceling automatic renewal before their next scheduled billing date if they do not wish to continue their membership.

Talented Tenth Advisory will provide applicable renewal notices and cancellation information in accordance with legal requirements.

Refund Requests and Processing

Refund requests must be submitted to support@talentedtenthadvisory.com.

Eligibility will be determined using the original purchase date and the date the refund request is received.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method where possible. The time required for funds to appear may vary based on the payment provider.

Members who receive a full or partial refund agree to early termination of their membership. Membership benefits end immediately on the requested membership termination date.

Refunds are limited to the amounts specified in Section 5 of this policy unless otherwise required by applicable law. Membership fees will not be refunded more than once for the same transaction.

Nothing in this policy limits any refund, cancellation, or other consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

6. Informational Purpose

Resources provided are general educational content, organizational perspectives, and professional development resources.

Information shared is not an individualized assessment of any member's organization.

Members are responsible for evaluating the applicability of information to their particular circumstances and making their own organizational and professional decisions.

Membership does not establish an individualized advisory engagement with Talented Tenth Advisory.

Any separate advisory services must be established through an appropriate written agreement that defines, at a minimum, the scope, responsibilities, fees, and terms of that engagement.

7. No Guaranteed Outcomes

The information and perspectives shared are general educational and informational resources. Membership does not constitute an individualized organizational intervention, and participation does not guarantee any particular organizational, operational, professional, or financial outcome.

8. Intellectual Property and Permitted Use

Unless otherwise indicated, original frameworks, educational resources, written materials, presentations, and other content created by Talented Tenth Advisory are owned by Talented Tenth Advisory or used with appropriate permission.

Membership grants access to these materials under the limited license described below. It does not transfer ownership of the materials or Talented Tenth Advisory's intellectual property.

Members receive a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use membership materials for their own educational and internal professional purposes during their membership.

Without prior written permission, members will not:

  • Reproduce, republish, sell, distribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit membership materials.

  • Share paid materials or account access outside the scope of their membership.

  • Present Talented Tenth Advisory's proprietary frameworks or materials as their own.

  • Remove copyright or ownership notices from membership content.

Members may apply general ideas and knowledge gained through their membership in their professional work, provided they do not reproduce or redistribute protected materials beyond permissions granted in these Terms.

Requests for additional permissions may be sent to support@talentedtenthadvisory.com.

9. Community Participation

Our membership community is intended to support respectful professional exchange, dialogue, and ideas.

Members agree to communicate professionally, respect differing perspectives, and avoid harassment, discrimination, threats, or conduct that materially disrupts the community.

Members must not share another participant's private or confidential information without permission.

Appropriate judgment is encouraged when sharing workplace experiences, organizational challenges, or information relating to employees, clients, funders, or other stakeholders.

Do not share confidential organizational records, sensitive personal information, or proprietary third-party materials unless you are authorized to share them.

We may moderate content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the community, other members, or the integrity of the membership experience, subject to applicable law.

10. Member Contributions

Members retain ownership of any original content they contribute.

By submitting content within the community, members grant Talented Tenth Advisory a limited permission to host, display, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate the community and provide membership services.

We will not treat any member's contribution as permission to publicly identify the member or use their organization as a client testimonial without appropriate authorization.

Members are responsible for ensuring that they have permission to share any materials they contribute.

11. Confidentiality and Privacy

We encourage members to engage with discretion, being mindful that Talented Tenth Advisory cannot guarantee that other members will maintain confidentiality.

Members should avoid sharing or posting information that requires any formal confidentiality agreement or legal protections.

Our collection and handling of personal information are addressed in our separate Privacy Policy.

12. Membership Content and Service Changes

We periodically update educational resources, community features, membership experiences, or the methods through which content is delivered.

Any material changes affecting paid membership benefits, pricing, or renewal terms will be communicated in accordance with applicable law.

13. Availability and Technical Access

We make reasonable efforts to maintain access, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical issues, third-party platform availability, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

If a significant interruption affects paid membership access, we will evaluate appropriate remedies in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances involved.

14. Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate membership access for material violations of these Terms, including unauthorized distribution of proprietary content, account misuse, or serious misconduct within the community.

Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Any termination, access restrictions, or related refund decisions remain subject to applicable law.

Members may voluntarily cancel their subscriptions using the cancellation process described in Section 4.

15. Responsibility and Limitation of Liability

Members remain responsible for decisions made within their organizations and for determining whether membership materials are appropriate for their circumstances.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Talented Tenth Advisory is not responsible for losses resulting solely from a member's independent application of general educational material without an individualized advisory engagement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

16. Changes to These Terms

We periodically update these Membership Terms & Conditions.

The current version will be published on our website.

Material changes will be communicated to members in accordance with applicable law. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain consent before implementing changes.
